They are proven to reduce the number, and severity, of injuries on the road.&nbsp; <br>National leadership on this issue would ensure an approach that is more equitable, more cost effective, and offers the greatest scope to reduce casualties.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"666\" src=\"https:\/\/transform.scot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/image-1024x666.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5731\" srcset=\"https:\/\/transform.scot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/image.png 1024w, https:\/\/transform.scot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/image-300x195.png 300w, https:\/\/transform.scot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/image-768x500.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> Adrian Davis, Professor of Transport and Health at Edinburgh Napier University, said:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There is strong evidence that 20mph limits have had a positive impact on public health where they have been introduced.
