Buses debate: Time for Government to tackle the key causes of bus decline

Transform Scotland has published a briefing ahead of today’s Members’ Debate on bus services in Parliament.

The briefing highlights key issues for bus services in Scotland and calls on the Scottish Government to:

• Set out its aspirations for service levels, including network coverage,
  frequencies, fares, environmental standards and customer care
• Examine why patronage trends differ across Scotland, and what lessons which can learned
• Set out the reasons for long-term decline, and remedies to address this such as traffic
  management, bus priority measures
